Over the past twenty-five years, I’ve gained experience with a wide range of organizations and projects in infrastructure and civil engineering. I’ve worked on both the public and private sides of the sector. This has equipped me with all the skills needed to successfully manage complex projects.

Projects I’m proud of

Design phase of the RijnGouwelijn
One of the projects I look back on with pride is the design phase of the RijnGouwelijn—a light rail connection running straight through the city center of Leiden. This was an especially complex challenge, cutting through a historic city with many spatial constraints and a politically sensitive context. It’s precisely in such situations that I find it valuable to contribute ideas, build support, and develop solutions that are truly feasible.

New construction of the Vechtbrug Uitermeer (N236)
Another project I’m proud of is the new construction of the Vechtbrug Uitermeer (spanning the Vecht on the N236). This involved building a new bascule bridge. What made this project special for me was that everything went smoothly—from design to execution. The bridge was delivered on time and within budget, and to the full satisfaction of the managing authority. To me, that’s the essence of good project work: a tangible result that everyone is happy with.

This is my ambition:

To deliver projects that truly make an impact. That impact can lie in the end result, benefiting daily users, but also in the process leading up to it. A project is successful to me when it runs smoothly, meets expectations, and provides the managing party with a sustainable, easy-to-maintain asset. I’m energized by seeing a project that not only works technically but also adds real value to its surroundings and the future.
